Ryan's 2st grade class was invited for a tour of the firehouse. It is just about a half mile up the road from the school. So the plan was to just walk as a large group up. Well the weather was really cold & wet so the kids got to ride the bus & the parents followed behind. When we first arrived the split us into smaller groups and we first sat through a fire safety lesson, then went on a tour of the living spaces & last we got to go see and learn all about the tools & trucks. Ryan thought it was super neat, he liked most getting to sit in the seat of the truck.
Later in the month we were able to catch up with my sister Shelly & her kids to go play at a Harvest Fun Farm. They had the great big hay bales setup into a fort with old foam & mattresses to hide, jump & play on. I would love to have the lack of fear as my kids too. I get nervous on stuff like this but not kids-they had a blast! They also had a corn maze & wagon ride. We got the kids away from the hay bales for a few minutes to go walk through the maze. It was fun, but the kids didn't seem to like to stay on the trail after a while they started just cutting through the corn so they could get back to the hay bales. They would've stayed & played forever if we'd let them.
