PineWood Derby

This is the race track Brandon with his "Blue Flammer" Car Brandon has really enjoyed participating in scouts. He has made some great new friends and learned a lot of neat stuff. Every year around March they have the Pinewood Derby. He really likes to think up ideas on what would be a fast, cool looking car. So he has totally designed his car the past 2 years, then Jeff & I help with cutting it out. He then gets to decide how much he wants to sand it and then paint it. I think he gets a lot more out of it this way since we aren't doing it all for him. Unfortunately his car wasn't the fastest. We are so proud of him and the good sportsmanship he showed to the other boys. Maybe next year will be his year! :)

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Our youngest is now 4 years old. He had a birthday this past week. I can't believe it! Our little guy is growing up so fast. But he is so much fun for our family. I'm so glad we were sent his sweet spirit. He still doesn't quite understand the date thing. He was asking everyday if it was his birthday. Then he told me he wanted to have a cake and presents. So last Saturday Jeff's brother Paul came up to go skiing. When they got home we had Ryan's birthday dinner & party. He had a lot of fun. I made my first attempt at a creative cake. It was a pretty easy one. I'll have to have more practice that is for sure. I'm not as good as my little sister that is for sure. I'll get my pictures posted later.... Just as a little catch up. I started a new job about a month ago doing accounting for a Jewish Temple. It is definitely different but actually the people are great and the work is low stress. I'm only there about 23 hours a week. I've been trading babysitting with a gal from the ward who also works part-time in an office. It has been working out really well. Our kids play great together. It now allows us to have the evenings together as a family. We are gonna start working on getting the yard finished and a fence up in the next couple months so our evening & weekends will be busy. Other than that things are going great!

Way to go Brandon!

A lot of you already know Brandon is attending a charter school this year. So far we have noticed an overall improvement. He is getting challenged more and has made some great new friends. The other day his class held their awards ceremony for the 2nd quarter. He earned High Honors meaning all A's, Honors and Perfect Attendance. He is also being tested for the gifted & talented program. We are so very proud of him. He is smart, kind, fun and great big brother! We're so glad to see that he is having fun and doing well at school. Keep up the great work Buddy, we love you!
