Birthday Party Fun!

Our Friend Isaiah had a Birthday last weekend! He had a monster Truck themed party. They rented a Monster Truck Bouncer. The kids had a blast! I just wanted to share a few of the fun Pictures that I got.

Mr. Tyson's Surgery

Tyson has had a bunch of issues with Strep Throat over the past year to year and a half. We were referred to an ENT at Children's Hospital here in Denver. The doctor recommended that we have both his Tonsils & Adenoids removed. Not because they're overly large but because he has had Strep like 8 times in about 13 months. So we decided to do it and they scheduled him for Feb. 4th. We were told in the consult to plan on being there all day and worst case over night. We had to be at the hospital at 10:45 am. Surgery was to start at 12:45. We arrived on time and got all checked in. We got to meet all the doctors and nurses, while Tyson & Ryan watched the Cartoon Channel. Tyson was in great spirits, the doctors were all very great with him. When it came time to walk him back to the OR only one of us could walk back cause we had Ryan with us. I chose to walk him back. He became very unsure all at once. But he climbed up on the table like he was told. Wore his watermelon mask. I got to hold his hand til he fell asleep, gave him a kiss & told him I loved him & see him later. We were told the surgery was to take about 45 mins. Since they never got him in until after 1:00 we went down & got some food. We timed it pretty well we only had to wait for about 5 minutes and they told us he was done. I was able to go back & see him. He was upset and in a lot of pain, he wanted his mommy. :( It was very hard for me to see him in so much pain & upset. It took a little longer for the pain meds to kick in so they gave him a half a dose of Morphine. He had like 3 Slushies, the cold helped til the meds kicked in. He was moved to the post op area where they watch for about 2-3 hours then send home. During this time they have to show that they can hold down liquids and maintain their Oxygen levels, and have no complications. At about 7:00pm they decided that he was gonna have to stay the night. He was not maintaining a high enough Oxygen level. No real explanation for it other than sometimes being tubed during the surgery can cause the lung sacks to cave in and they take a few hours to plump back up. So they sent him up to an in-patient room where we stayed the night. His oxygen levels came up all through the night so the Doctor said he could go home. We left the hospital at about 9:30 am. He was doing pretty well. Since coming home he has done great! As long as we keep him on schedule with his pain meds he is acting a lot like his normal self. I actually had to tell him to settle down today. And he loves the "Special" attention he is getting. We are so very glad that everything turned out well and we can move on with the recovery. TYSON you are so BRAVE & STRONG! You have been through so much in your short little 5 years here on earth. We so glad you picked to be part of our family! WE are so very BLESSED! I hope that this helps Tyson avoid being sick a lot more in the future. Thanks to all you who have been praying for Tyson & our family. We LOVE you all very much!
I was able to get one picture before cause I left my other "charged" battery at home. Since we stayed the night Jeff brought me the new battery. Tyson can only have soft food, his choice for breakfast, Mashed potatoes and a Pancake. :)
You can see how much he likes his picture taken. I was trying to get him to smile cause he was going home.
