Finally, We have some grass...

So last summer our outdoor project was a patio just off our back door. It was long & difficult but well worth it! Sometimes I wonder if I get in over my head with my ideas. I came up with the layout and border for the patio. Later after hauling all the bricks I'm sure Jeff was wondering how great it was! So this summer we have been doing a little as we get money. We found that sod wasn't as expensive as we thought. This past weekend we were fortunate to have two of Jeff's brothers here. They helped us haul and lay the sod. But before that Jeff had to do a lot of prep work. He is such a hardworking man! :) He dug ditches and installed sprinklers, shoveled the dirt up so it was level and soft. He is kinda paying for it now. He has been tired and sore ever since! The kids love it, they were bummed when we told them they had to wait a few days before they could play on it. :( Here are some before during and after shots. Keep in mind we still have another section of the same size to do later when we strike it rich. Anyway.....

Ryan's bonk on the head....

This last Thursday I left Jeff with Tyson & Ryan for a little while to get a haircut. When I got back Ryan is laying on the futon with an ice pack. Jeff says "you need to look at this" I said if it is blood I have no desire to look at it. Well it turns out the boys went in the garage while Jeff was in the backyard. They decided to help themselves to their 4 wheeler batteries. Tyson was strong enough to get his off the work bench. Ryan wasn't and it fell onto his head. Giving him a nice big bump and a cut right between the eyes. He is suck a tough kid though he was only laying with the ice for about 30 minutes before he was up and wanting to go back outside.
